What could I do to achieve my fitness goal?
One important thing to keep in mind is your goal is not a destination. Your goal is a journey.
So, a few things to help you reach your fitness goals would be:
Accepting absolutely no one on earth is perfect and you are bound to make mistakes. It is okay to make mistakes. It is okay to fall off the wagon. It is NOT okay to stay there.
Don’t expect yourself to be perfect. Your goal should be to eat 90-95% percent clean. Realistically you will eat around 80-85% clean.
Make the effort. It is never easy to achieve your fitness goals to lose weight, or gain muscle – or do both at the same time. It will take planning, attention and effort in order for you to get there.
You want to be real with what you can accomplish in the week. Say you want to lose 15 pounds. This is not going to happen overnight. Giving yourself a goal to lose 5 pounds a week, will only frustrate you and make you feel that your efforts are not enough. After all you didn’t gain the weight in a few weeks, and you certainly aren’t going to lose it in a few weeks.
Focus on what matters. To rephrase it, if you are making sure to workout 4 times a week, eating 80-85% healthy, and trying to get as many steps you can in a day (minimum 10,000) – that is what matters. Not seeing the scale move as quickly as we would like can be very disheartening. As I mentioned progress is never made in a linear fashion.
So regardless, TRUST the process and keep going, knowing you are moving toward your goals.
Be proud of yourself every step of the way! Do NOT wait to achieve your fitness goal in order to be proud and happy with what you have accomplished. Again, remember is that it’s not about the destination, but about the journey.
Lastly, as long as you are doing your best and sticking to your healthy habits, that’s what matters!
You CAN do this! Believe in yourself! Know that it is not going to be easy, but you are worth it!
Have an incredible week! If you have any questions regarding anything I wrote, please let me know! I would love to help you.
